Reporting crimes to law enforcement is critical to ensuring safety, accountability, and access to services. The Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) strongly encourages anyone who has experienced or witnessed a crime to report it to the police so that appropriate action(s) can be taken; additional information on how to report a crime can be found here. RUPD is committed to supporting crime victims and survivors and works collaboratively with campus partners to ensure supportive resources are available.

Rutgers University is also committed to supporting victims of crime and survivors with compassionate, confidential, and comprehensive services. The resources below are available to students, faculty, staff, and community members to provide support, advocacy, reporting options, and workplace or academic accommodations.

If you or someone you know has been impacted by a crime, these offices can help you understand your options and connect you with support. In emergencies, please call 911 or the Rutgers University Police Department.

Title IX Services

Rutgers Title IX offices are responsible for addressing sexual and gender-based discrimination and misconduct, including sexual harassment, sexual violence, dating and domestic violence, and stalking. Title IX services provide reporting options, supportive measures, and information about university policies and procedures while connecting individuals to appropriate resources.

Rutgers Office of Employment Equity (OEE)

The Rutgers Office of Employment Equity (OEE) works to ensure a fair, respectful, and inclusive workplace. OEE investigates complaints involving discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct under Title IX (employee-related), workplace violence, and related policy concerns, and coordinates reasonable workplace accommodations for faculty and staff.
