Rutgers University Institutional Planning & Operations Facilities and Parking Services will be conducting an expansive lighting upgrade project for P3 DOC Parking Deck that will replace the existing light fixtures with new energy efficient LED lighting. These new fixtures will improve visibility and help support overall deck safety.
The project timeline will necessitate closure of the facility during off peak hours.
Project Details:
Timeline: 3 to 4 weeks, commencing June 8, 2026
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday: 4:00PM – 3:00AM
This schedule supports daytime parking availability by helping ensure spaces remain open and accessible when demand is highest.Scope: Commences with the targeted removal of non-functioning fixtures and transitions with installation of new LED light fixtures
Access Management:
Entry: gates will shut Monday through Friday from 4:00pm to 3:00am
Exits: All exit gates will remain open continuously, to allow remaining vehicles to depart the facility
Alternate Parking Locations during gate shutdown: P1 Norfolk, P2 Bergen
Parking attendants will be present for support and traffic management. Lighting upgrades will also be conducted for the P2 Bergen Deck. Communications on scheduling will be forthcoming.
