Parking in a Handicap stall requires registration of your state-issued handicap placard and your state-issued registration card to DOTS. Both must be submitted as DOTS is required to validate any placard submitted prior to linking to an active account.
For a temporary handicap placard, DOTS requires that a copy of the temporary placard be submitted, the name and township that issued the placard must be visible.
The display of proper identification from Motor Vehicles services is required when parking on Rutgers property. A state-issued handicap placard does not negate your need for a Rutgers e-permit, you are required to have a Rutgers e-permit and register your placard information.
Striped aisles adjacent to a handicap parking stall are part of the handicap stall and carry the same penalty for misuse.
