On Friday, January 9, 2026, at 11:00 PM, Deck 2 (166 Washington St.) will be temporarily closed to complete important, safety-related concrete maintenance and emergency repairs.
The deck will reopen on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
Why This Work Is Needed
Deck closure is necessary to ensure the safety of all students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Crews will be removing loose concrete, performing related maintenance, and addressing emergency repairs identified during recent inspections.
Parking Access During the Closure
- The deck exit lane will remain open throughout the weekend to allow vehicles to move out of the deck
- Permit holders are required to relocate vehicles to Deck 1 or Deck 3 as an alternative parking location while work is in progress
Commuter students returning for classes on January 12 can also utilize the deck located at 261 University Avenue, Newark, NJ 07102. Please ensure to pick up a validation PDF from the attendants before proceeding to this deck.
- While additional maintenance may continue the following week after the deck closure, Deck 2 will reopen as scheduled, and no further parking impacts are expected.
