The purpose of this program is to establish criteria for the training of manlift, aerial lift, and bucket truck operators and ensure employees' and students' health and safety while operating and/or working around manlifts, aerial lifts, and bucket trucks, as required by OSHA
Training must be done by a qualified person experienced with the particular lift model and must include:
- Nature of electrical, fall, and other hazards involved in operating lift Precautions for dealing with hazards
- Rated load capacity for the lift (including workers, tools, materials, bucket liner, etc.)
- Manufacturer requirements, as outlined in the operator manual;
- Demonstration of skill and knowledge in the actual operation of the aerial lift
